Works in Progess

When I paint, I paint off ideas. Thoughts, graphics, memories in my mind; everyday inspirations are what I paint. My paintings can take weeks up to months, maybe a year to finish. It's not the craftsmanship of the painting that takes long, but the fact that I am a perfectionist; I don't want to rush through it. I get infuriated with one ill fitting brushstroke. In the midst of me taking my time with that one painting, I get inspired by something else! I get another "amazing" idea, another impulse! So you know how that goes. I stop a painting for another and so on and so forth. At the moment I have 5 unfinished paintings. What does that say about me? Nothing really. Creativity is a process. I'm learning to find perfection in the imperfection. One thing is for sure, Magritte does and will always move me.
